  • Christopher Hayes was the brother of Jack Hayes, of Stores Department, Railway Buildings, Wellington, New Zealand.

    Son of Edmund and Mary Hayes (nee O'Callaghan).

    His father Edmund Hayes arrived in N.Z. per the "City of Auckland" which was shipwrecked off Otaki in 1877. Chris appears to have five other brothers: William Joseph, Edmund, Vincent, John, and Albert. AWMM
