  • Employed as a Chemist, dispenser by J.B. Smith Junior, in Palmerston South before enlistment.

    Dolphin's service record includes the 21 September 1915 remarks of Medical Officer Herbert Barraclough: "A really excellent recruit."

    Frederick, who was a trainee chemist, remained in France and helped establish the venereal disease ward at Codford Hospital to treat the large numbers of Kiwis

    After the War Dolphin undertook further training at the Westminster School of Pharmacy in London. He continued working as a chemist and was the manager of the South Dunedin UFS Dispensary 1929-1959

    On his return to New Zealand he recorded his address as Palmerston, Otago (1919) and at the time of his death he was living at 23 Royston Street, Dunedin (July 1968).
