  • Noel Jordan was the son of Gibbes Claude Borlase Jordan and Lilian Isabella Jordan, of Tauranga, New Zealand. Native of Wellington.

    Embarked Wellington, 1 May 1916; disembarked Suez, 9 June 1916.
    Embarked Alexandria, 26 July 1916; disembarked Southampton, England, 7 August 1916, and marched in to Sling Camp.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 20 August 1916; joined 2nd Bn, Wellington Infantry Regiment, in the field, 1 September 1916.
    Killed in action, 2 October 1916.

  • Noel was the loved younger brother of Marjorie Lillian Rhodes, née Jordan. She was my mother-in-law and died aged 98. She spoke fondly of Noel throughout her long life. Like so many families, they were deeply saddened, though grateful that their older son, Alan, survived and returned to nz
