  • Edwards mother and father immigrated to NZ from Scotland on the ship Waikato 21 June 1875. Edward was born in 1877 (BDM 1887/3947) and had 11 siblings. The original homestead built by Robert in Dunedin (who was a carpenter) is still there today. Edwards father was Robert John Wood Henderson, and his mother was Catherine Menzies Millar. Edward's occupation was listed as a painter. Edward was buried at sea on 15 Aug en route to Alexandria Egypt. He was 28 years old. His name appears on panel 75 of the Memorial at Lone Pine Gallipoli.
