Biographical information
Son of Mary Ann and Henry Alfred Dickinson
"The newspaper clipping [his brother's obituary] mentions he lived with his brother Ernest (my grandfather) and used to get cigarettes every week and when they were delivered he would count them to make sure the correct amount was there. At one delivery his brother carefully opened one carton and took out one cigarette, Harry was furious at being one short and all hell was to pay until his brother admitted to taking one." (recounted by his great nephew 2009)
"He never married. He was a commercial traveller ...and I believe he visited relatives as he worked his area [Fielding]. He was a small dapper man wearing a three piece suit ..." (recollections of a great niece who met her great uncle in the 1950's)
Listed on the WW1 Nominal Roll and NZ Gazette as Thomas Henry Dickinson. Listed on his birth registration and service record as Thomas Harry Dickinson. Known throughout his life as Harry (personal communication from family) AWMM
