  • Moved to Australia about 1924 and became a regular in the Australian army. Then fought in the Second World War for them, obtaining the rank of Major. Died in November1951 of cancer. The family was told this was induced by a shrapnel injury from the First World War.

    Married Gladys Mona Jean Hughes 1926 in Sydney, one child Shirley Denise Tighe, born 20 December1929. She married a kiwi (Raymond Thomas Schofield in 1950) and lived in New Zealand until her death in Christchurch 14 March 2014. Family source. AWMM
