    Posted to Divisional Ammunition Column, 16 January 1917.
    Admitted to No 2 NZ Field Ambulance, 16 February 1917 (chronic broncho-pneumonia); transferred to 2/3 Wessex Field Ambulance, 25 February 1917; to No 2 Australian General Hospital, Wimereux, 25 February 1917; transferred to England, 3 March 1917, and admitted same day to No 3 NZ General Hospital, Walton-on-Thames; transferred to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 4 May 1917; discharged on leave, 30 June 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, and marched in to NZ Base Depot, Etaples, 12 October 1917; posted to and joined 2nd Battery, 2nd Field Artillery Brigade, in the field, 20 October 1917.
    On leave to United Kingdom, 24 September 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 14 October 1918.
