      Posted to 4th Machine Gun Company, 23 April 1917.
      Proceeded overseas to France, 28 May 1917.
      Admitted to No 4 NZ Field Ambulance, 28 June 1917 (abscess, neck); transferred to 11th Casualty Clearing Station, 3 July 1917; transferred to 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Boulogne, 5 July 1917; to England, 11 July 1917 (cyst on neck), and admitted to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst; transferred to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 7 September 1917; discharged on furlough, 6 October 1917, to report to Machine Gun Depot, Grantham, 22 October 1917.
