    LIEUT. JOHN BROOKING.

The death occurred in Auckland on Friday last of Lieut. John Brooking, husband of Mrs Kathleen Brooking (daughter of the late Mr. R. Leslie Hunt and Mrs Hunt, of Auckland), after a long and painful illness which he bore with great fortitude and cheerfulness.
The late Lieut. Brooking saw three years active service in the late war, and the illness from which he suffered was the result of the injuries received while on service. Lieut. Brooking was the son of the late Mr. Julian Arthur Brooking and Mrs. Brooking, who were pioneers of the early days, and who were well known on the East Coast, where Mrs Brooking still resides Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 23 June 2023 - OBITUARY.
