    FOUND DEAD.
    BODY IN GARAGE.
    FORMER TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR.
At five o'clock yesterday afternoon, Mr. Walter Stephenson, a married man, was found hanging in a motor garage at his residence, 35, Mont Le Grand Road, Dominion Road. He was then dead.

Formerly an instructor at the Seddon Memorial Technical College, deceased was 41 years of age. He recently resigned his position, and intended to leave Auckland shortly to commence duties at the Rotorua High School. He leaves a wife and a child.

    Deceased's Fine War Record.
At an inquest held this morning, a verdict of suicide while in a state of mental depression was returned by the coroner, Mr. F. K. Hunt, S.M.

Evidence was given by deceased's father-in-law, Mr. John Alfi;ed Danielson, that Mr. Stephenson had been instructor in carpentry at the Seddon Memorial Technical College, and was shortly to transfer to the Rotorua High School. He had been nervy of late, and upset about resigning his position in Auckland and having to break up his home. He had never mentioned suicide. Eight years ago he had a nervous breakdown, and had never been right since. The deceased had been gassed three times at the war, and also had a nervous breakdown while on active service. He had no financial worries and his home life had been happy.
