  • Julius was uncle of mine. I have inherited his model of a full rigged 3-masted sailing ship. I treasure some photos taken in 1899 of this splendid model sailing past Julius. In the early 1900s he went to sea in square rigged sailing ships, and I have transcripts of several letters of his in which he recorded his experiences as a sailor "before the mast". Restoring this model is my tribute to his memory.
