  • MY GRANDFATER HAS GIVEN ME A PHOTO SAYING, DEAR BESS, HERE IS A PHOTO OF US NORTH OTAGO BOYS READY TO GET AWAY (WORDS TO THAT EFFECT) AND IN THE PHOTO IS 'DONALD FORRESTER BROWN' WHO WENT ON TO WIN THE VC POSTHUMOURSLY IN FRANCE. I HAVE TRIED TO IDENTIFY THE OTHER BOYS IN THE PHOTO BUT ALL MY GRANDFATHERS AND MOTHERS FRIEND ARE LONG GONE. JUST WONDER, IF I SENT YOU'S A COPY OF THE PHOTO/POSTCARD WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO IDENTFY SOME OF THE MEN IN IT. MY GRANDFATHER AND DONLAD FORRESTER BROWN I CAN EASILY RECOGNISE KIND REGARDS, TERRY MCCAW
