  • Frank Gaffaney was my Grandfather and was known as 'Pop" to me and my brothers and sister. He passed away in 1980 at the grand age of 98. He served with the Wellington regiment in France during WW1. My understanding is that he was a captain. My mother, Patricia Kathleen McLachlan (Nee Gaffaney) was his youngest daughter, who passed away in Dunedin the 3rd March 2015. Mum had two older sisters named Eileen and Imelda. My memories of Pop were visiting him at Kenmure Road, Dunedin while sharing an orange over a good yarn.
