  • Making my second haerenga to visit a tupuna of my husband and his whanau. First visited his tupuna at Tyne Cot Cemetery in 2014 as part of the NZDF MCG contingent. A very emotional time. Attending ANZAC celebrations again this year, and hopefully will get time again to visit and pay my respects. Takoto mai e koro ma I raro I te korowai o te rangimarie. • Just realised you weren't at Gallipoli, but must have gone straight to the western front.

  • Remembering you this Anzac Day 2015 Corporal Hunter. I am the current caretaker of your official Returned Soldiers Association badge that you must have received on a visit home after Gallipoli and before you were later killed in action. I bought your badge on Trade Me several years ago hoping one day I might find someone from your family to return it to. Thank you for your service to our country. My grandfather Hippo served in Gallipoli as well. I was fortunate enough to know him. That won't be the case for your family, but they are still your family none the less. Will place a poppy for you this Saturday. Rest in peace.
