  • Great Uncle Harry, I want to thank you and all the others who laid down their lives, as well as those who came back and were changed forever. You helped changed the course of the world and because of that we enjoy this world as it is now. May no others have to endure the horrors you saw on the Western Front. I want to tell you that your brother, Charlie, grew into a wonderful man who became a wonderful Grandfather and who lives large and warm in my memory. Tomorrow I shall stand proud to be your Grand nephew, until I can stand in front of your grave and thank you again. Lest we forget.

  • On behalf of Australians, "thank you for your contribution to the ANZAC WW1 Campaign." I am to become a part of your family and it is with great pride that I hear your descendants speak of you. Due to you and many other men defending for our two great countries, we now have wonderful and rich lives, where we can concentrate on the joys and fun combative nature of the greatest rivalry and games in the world (of which we are the best respectively- Rugby Union and Rugby League). I go with your great nephew tomorrow firstly to a moving Dawn Service, and then with the spirit close to heart, to watch the mighty game and think well of you and your mates to give us this legend and legacy. Lest we Forget. Peace.
