- Hubert's younger brother Bruce Hurford (my Great Grand Father) also served in WW1 in the NZEF Otago Regiment, 3rd Battalion, service number 8/1515

- I have since discovered that Hubert's younger brother Percy Hurford also enlisted into the Australian Imperial Force on 13 April 1916 at Dubbo, NSW at 24years of age
Percy was placed in the 54th Battalion, 6th Reinforcements.
Percy was deployed on HMAT CERAMIC from Sydney, NSW 07 October 1916
He was a Machine Gunner with service number 2668
