  • Timothy Aherne was the son of Edmond and Mary Aherne, of Monavraher, Killeagh, Co. Cork, Ireland. There is some confusion as to his date and place of death, with some sources placing it on the 8 November 1918, at Le Quesnoy, while his military record records it as 8 October 1918, in the field in France.
