    Proceeded overseas to France, 14 December 1916; joined 3rd Bn, in the field, 12 January 1917.
    Admitted to No 1 NZ Field Ambulance, 16 February 1917; transferred to No 14 General Hospital, Wimereux, 19 February 1917 (phthisis); to England, 22 February 1917, and admitted to No 2 NZ General Hospital; discharged to NZ Convalescent Camp, 21 March 1917; taken on strength, NZ Command Depot, Codford, 2 May 1917.
    Found guilty, 10 January 1918, of being absent without leave from 11.45 pm, 5 January, to 8 pm, 7 January 1918: deprived of 3 days' pay and forfeited 3 days' pay.
    Admitted to No 3 NZ General Hospital, Codford, 22 January 1918 (bronchitis); discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 14 February 1918.
    Admitted to No 3 NZ General Hospital, 5 April 1918; discharged to NZ Command Depot, 12 April 1918.
