  • Alf Johnston was the son of my grandfather's sister Ivy. He was killed in action in France in WW1. In my grandfather James Goodyer's memorabilia there is a photo of Alf in uniform and also photo of a cross with his name on it in Mailley Wood Cemetary at Mailley Maller in France. On the cross it says 32955 CPL A.H. Johnson (sic), 3/N.Z.R.B, 3-4/18.
