  • Served France & Belgium (1917 & 1918). Also served with the New Zealand Pioneers' Battalion NZEF & Signallers' Corp NZEF - at France & Belgium (1917).
    25 August 1918 - Wounded in action at France. Medically evacuated - by sea - to England where he was admitted to the No 1 (New Zealand) General Hospital - at Brockenhurst, England,
    Invalided home to New Zealand - aboard SS 'Briton' - embarking from Plymouth, England - on 24 December 1918.
    Discharged from the NZEF 26 February 1919 - at New Zealand. Served overseas - with the NZEF - for 2 years & 244 days.
