  • Allen Kemp was the son of Richard Kemp, of Park Estate Rd., Papakura, Auckland, New Zealand. Also served in Samoa.

    The Chronicles of the NZEF, March 14 1917 that the name of 12/2553 Lce-Cpl. A. Kemp, 1st Auckland Infantry Battalion, appears on a recent list as "believed to be prisoner of war", but no communication has yet been heard. AWMM

  • One of my grandmother's 4 uncles who went to war, and sadly Allen didn't make it home. Their Father transcribed all the boys letters home, a legacy that ensures the future generations 'will not forget' Honoured to lay a poppy this Anzac Day 2018.
