  • My name is Malcolm Thomas Kendall and I grew up in Mitimiti, Hokianga. I have always been aware of the memorial for Thomas at te Whare Karakia o Hato Hemi, but until this year was not sure exactly how I was related - although I knew it would be a close relationship. Still a lot to learn but proud to be related and grateful to know the Waiomio's through Aunty Pat and now Karen have kept safe an important part of his legacy - his medals. Ka maumahara tonu tatou ki a ratou.
