      29 Sep 2018-3 October 2018 AWMM
London Gazette 14 May 1919, p6062, Rec No 2909. For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty in the field during operations on Bon Avis Ridge from, 29th September to 3rd October, 1918. During the above operations this man rendered valuable services as a Battalion Observer. He moved with the leading platoons in the attack and in particular, on 30th September, despite heavy machine gun and rifle fire, he reconnoitred the newly captured positions, got in touch with the flank Battalions, and brought back very useful and reliable information. His conduct throughout was exceptionally gallant, and he displayed not only personal bravery, but ability and skill of the highest order. AWMM
