    Wounded in action [date unclear on B103] (gun shot wound, left thigh); admitted to 9th General Hospital, 3 August 1917; transferred to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 13-14 August 1917 (wound: severe); to NZ Convalescent Hospital, Hornchurch, 25 September 1917; discharged to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 25 October 1917, to report at Codford, 9 November 1917; admitted to hospital, 5-7 November 1917 (influenza).

    Commenced return to New Zealand from Liverpool on board 'Athenic', 3 February 1919; discharged, 17 March 1920.
