He married Rachel Irene Blakeley (Rene) on 8th December 1915 in Petone.

He was at sea 19th January until 6th May 1917, 30th May to 15th Septemeber 1917 and 4th July to 1st November 1918.

On the HS Maheno he assisted with the wounded from the battefields of France and Gallipoli and for the post war flu epidemic in New Zealand. He was discharged on the 11th February 1919 and awarded in 1921 the British War Medal and in 1922, the Victory Medal 1914-1919.

Frank was born in Upper Holloway near London, 4th of five children to George and Caroline Bryant (nee Cole). At age 21, with his parents, he immigrated to New Zealand, arriving on the "TSS Rimutaka" at Wellington 31st July, 1908.
