  • Walter Kinsella's service record indicates he was a transport driver for Otago Infantry Battalion (joined 1 January 1916), and was then attached to 8 Company on 27 January 1916.

The next two dates seem to contradict each other. He supposedly rejoined the Battalion at Rouen on 23 September 1916, but on 12 October 1916, he is shown as having transferred from 8 Company to Headquarters Transport at Rouen, France.

Private Kinsella's war medals, plaque and scroll were sent to his brother, Mr James Kinsella, care of Miss L. Kinsella, Waikino. AWMM
