  • Embarked Wellington, 16 February 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 26 April 1917; taken on strength, 4th (Reserve) Battalion, Wellington Infantry Regiment, Sling Camp, Salisbury Plain, 2 May 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 6 June 1917; disembarked Etaples, and marched in to New Zealand Infantry & General Base Depot, 9 June 1917. Marched out from Depot to join New Zealand Division, 18 July 1917; joined 2nd Battalion, Wellington Infantry Regiment, in the field, 21 July 1917.
    On leave to England, 10 August 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 26 August 1918.
    Appointed Lance Corporal, 15 January 1919.
    Marched in to Wellington Personnel Depot, Sling Camp, Salisbury Plain, from Germany, 17 February 1919.
    Commenced return to New Zealand on board HMNZT 'Athenic', 14 July, 1919; discharged, 29 September 1919.
