    • Attended Auckland University College (now the University of Auckland). AWMM
    • He was the only son of Harry & Joanna Munro HOCKIN (nee Wilson). He had two younger sisters - Frances Elizabeth (b1897) and Winifred (b1907).

      On 19th March 1923, he married Martha Peters CAMPBELL at St Mark’s Church, Remuera, Auckland. They had two sons Harry William & Campbell Munro (b1921).

      His sister, Frances, married Hugh Sutherland JONES (11046) who also enlisted with the NZEF. He died three months before Dr Hockin on the 14th July 1939. Public - Sandra - Researcher - 6 December 2018 - Waipu Museum

    SUDDEN DEATH OF DR. HOCKIN - The death occurred suddenly yesterday of Dr. Munro May Hockin, medical superintendent of the Waikato Hospital, at the age of 46. Dr Hockin was educated at Whangarei High School, Auckland Grammar School and Otago University. He was appointed medical superintendent of the Waikato Hospital in 1928. Last year he was made a foundation member of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. He served in the Great War as a lieutenant, and returned as a major. He is survived by his wife and two sons, now pupils at Wanganui Collegiate School. (Northern Advocate, 17 Oct 1939)
