  • Walter Lippiatt was the eldest son of William Edward and Jane Lippiatt, of Otahuhu, Auckland.

Three brothers: George Edward Kenneth Lippiatt (12/280 26865); Claude Lippiatt (18817) and Walter Eric Lippiat (14449) served in WW1; only one, George, came home.

Family remembered the three men on the Otahuhu War Memorial at ANZAC 2011 with a photograph of the George (Ken) standing between two men in wheelchairs and photographs of the Claude and Walter's graves with their wooden crosses.
