    Admitted to NZ General Hospital, Codford, 4 July 1917 (hernia); transferred to Convalescent Depot, Hornchurch, 23 August 1917; discharged on furlough, 6 October 1917; reported to NZ Command Depot, Codford, 22 October 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 20 March 1918; posted to 2nd Bn, Wellington Infantry Regiment, 11 May 1918.
    Admitted to 3rd Stationary Hospital, 4 July 1918 (influenza); transferred to 2nd Convalescent Depot, 6 July 1918; to 11th Convalescent Depot, 10 July 1918; discharged to NZ Base Depot, 13 August 1918.
    Reported wounded in action, 29 September 1918 (gun shot wound, left thigh: severe); admitted to 16th General Hospital, Le Treport, 30 September 1918; transferred to England, and admitted to No 1 NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 4 October 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand on board 'Zealandia', 18 January 1919; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of wounds received in action), 28 March 1919.
