  • William Abbott was the son of the late Rev. E. Abbott; husband of Helena Marie Abbott, of 34 Church Road., Leyton, London, England. Father of Helena Margaret b 1913.

    Abbott enlisted in London 22 September 1914.

    He died of wounds at sea ex Gallipoli.

    Listed at Archives New Zealand with service number 4/1a. Name spelled as Warrener by CWGC (December 2011). CWGC incorrectly records he was killed in action. AWMM
