  • He was the son of Richard & Jessie FLEET (nee McKenzie) from Ruakaka. His father was a schoolmaster.

    Two brothers enlisted with the NZEF – Henry (44635) & Reginald (44636).

    Mr HENRY FLEET – The death occurred at age 66, of Mr Henry Fleet, of Parua Bay. Born in the North, Mr Fleet spend most of his life here and was a well-known figure in the district. His grandfather came to NZ from Nova Scotia and settled in Waipu. In his young days Mr Fleet was a keen sportsman, playing cricket and a very good game of tennis. During the Great War he served overseas with the 24th reinforcements. As a result of sickness he was invalided back to NZ. He married in 1923 and is survived by his wife, son and a daughter.
