  • James McAnulty was promoted to Veterinary Sergeant and attached to the New Zealand Field Artillery 2 Brigade Headquarters Staff at Moascar in March 1916.

    "On 27 October 1918 James McAnulty received gunshot wounds to his left knee at Pont-a-Pierres, southwest of Le Quesnoy. That afternoon there was heavy bombardment of shelling by the enemy, which included gas." (Church, p.52)
