Admitted to ship's hospital, 4 June 1917; discharged from hospital, 12 June 1917. Admitted to ship's hospital, 10 July 1917 (influenza); discharged from hospital, 12 July 1917. Disembarked Devonport, England, 20 July 1917, and marched in to Sling Camp.
    Classified 'Unfit' and placed on NZ Roll; marched in to NZ Discharge Depot, Torquay, 20 August 1917.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Plymouth on board 'Remuera', 27 August 1917.
    Embarked Wellington, 10 July 1918; disembarked Plymouth, England, 9 September 1918; marched in to Camp Sling and attached to Reserve Brigade.
    Marched in to NZ Discharge Depot, Torquay, 15 October 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Plymouth on board 'Ayrshire' as Medical Orderly, 6 November 1918; found guilty by Field General Court Martial, on board ship, 16 December 1918, of neglect to the prejudice of good order and Military Discipline: forfeited 8 days' full pay; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service on account of illness contracted on Active Service), 13 May 1919.
