    Embarked Wellington, 26 April 1917; admitted to ship's hospital, 13 July 1917 (influenza); discharged, 15 July 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 20 July 1917, and marched into Sling Camp.
    Admitted to 3rd NZ General Hospital, 6 September 1917; taken on strength, NZ Command Depot, Codford, from hospital, 20 September 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France from Sling Camp, 20 October 1917; joined 3rd Bn, Otago Infantry Regiment, and posted to 8th Company, 9 November 1917.
    Admitted to No 3 NZ Field Ambulance, 1 December 1917 (diarrhoea), and transferred same day to 3rd Canadian Casualty Clearing Station; to 3rd Canadian General Hospital, Boulogne, 3 December 1917; to 7th Convalescent Depot, 15 December 1917; to 25th General Hospital, 7 January 1918 (scabies); to 1st Convalescent Depot, Boulogne, 17 January 1918; rejoined Bn and posted to 8th Company, 13 May 1918.
    Detached to Base Depot, Etaples, 6 June 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from Liverpool on board 'Oxfordshire', 19 December 1918; discharged (no longer physically fit for War Service [deformed toes, both feet]), 2 March 1919.
