    Admitted to Cambridge Hospital, Aldershot, 5 September 1917; discharged from hospital to NZ Field Artillery Depot, 12 September 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 17 October 1917.
    Transferred to 1st Brigade, 17 November 1917, and posted to 1st Battery.
    Wounded in action, 29 December 1917 (gassed), and admitted to 4th NZ Field Ambulance, and transferred same day to 64th Casualty Clearing Station; to 14th General Hospital, Wimereux, 5 January 1918; to England, 7 January 1918, and admitted same day to Southwark Military Hospital. Transferred to 1st NZ General Hospital, Brockenhurst, 9 February 1918; discharged, 26 February 1918, to report to NZ Field Artillery Base, Aldershot, 12 March 1918.
