    • Percival Beattie was the son of Alfred Luther Beattie and Mary Ann Beattie; husband of Annie Henrietta Beattie, of Herepoho, Eskdale, Napier, New Zealand.

      Alfred and Mary Ann Beattie built a church on their farm as a memorial to their son Percival Beattie. The church was completed about 1920 and is still in use today. AWMM
    • The Eskdale War Memorial Church was built on Thomas Clark land by Annie Henrietta Beattie and her father Thomas Clark (my great aunt and my great grandfather) as a memorial to all men from the district who gave their lives for world peace as servicemen for their country.
      The land owned by Percy and Annie Beattie , some 1800 acres, was acquired by the government for returned servicemen. Six blocks were balloted on 20 September 1919. Public - Timothy Clark - Other relative - 19 October 2018 - Clark family descendant and family records.
