  • Phillip Edward Beattie was the son of Mary Josephine Beattie (nee Durney) and Thomas Beattie. They married in 1887, and Phillip is believed to have been born around 1888 His Durney grandparents were Thomas and Lucy Durney (nee Hickey) Mary Josephine is believed to be their third child, and was born in Limerick in 1865 before the family emigrated out to Napier in November 1874. Thomas Beattie died, and Mary Josephine then married Hugh Reid in 1904. Phillip Beattie had 4 siblings The supplier of this information is agreed great grandson of Thomas and Lucy Durney
