  • His wounds were sufficiently serious for evacuation first to Malta and then to England and his sholder had permanent damage. Whilst waiting for transportation to New Zealand, and the medical discharge from active service, he disappeared. He was last seen the day before the ship was to sail.

    Court of Enquiry found he was last seen at 8 pm on the 7th April 1916 and has been missing since and declared as the circumstances of this man's disappearance does not justify him being classified as a deserter. AWMM
