    Posted to 27th Reinforcements, New Zealand Field Artillery, and embarked from Wellington, 12 June 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, and reverts to rank of Temporary Bombardier, 16 August 1917. Marched in to New Zealand Field Artillery Reserve Depot, Aldershot, 17 August 1917.
    Reverted to rank of Gunner on proceeding overseas to France, 11 November 1917.
    Marched in to New Zealand Infantry and General Base Depot, Etaples, France, 13 November 1917. Marched out to the New Zealand Division, 10 December 1917; posted to 15th (Howitzer) Battery, 1st Brigade, New Zealand Field Artillery, in the field, 11 December 1917.
    Admitted to No 1 New Zealand Field Ambulance, 13 February 1918 (sick); discharged and rejoined unit as Driver, 15 February 1918.
    Appointed Motor Driver and posted to Motor Transport Company, 30 October 1918.
    Commenced return to New Zealand from London on board HMNZT 'Waimana', 10 May 1919; arrived Auckland, 24 June 1919.
    Discharged on termination of period of engagement, 21 July 1919.
