  • John Paul Bilski was my grandfather, my mother Mary was his eldest child and I am the eldest granddaughter. My family lived in New Plymouth, and my grandparents lived in Tukapa Street, opposite the now Yarrow Stadium. I visited them on the way home from my school every Friday. My mother used to take my youngest brothers there on a Friday and I went home with them. I have very happy memories of these grandparents. Mr grandfather met my grandmother Bessie Yeo in England and they got married there ion 12 December 1818 and my mother was born there in Chudleigh on 07 October 1919. They set said for New Zealand when my mother was a baby. John Paul passed away in February 1960 when I was 18 years of age.
