  • James Alfred Goodyer was a postmaster at Hawera and then Rawene for many years.

    He was also a keen brass band player and a member of the Hawera Municipal Band that competed at New Zealand championships. He played the Euphonium. The band conductor was Harry Fox.

    He married Mabel Ogier and they had four children. AWMM
