    Transferred to No 5 NZ Railway Operating Company, 20 December 1917.
    Regimental No changed to 4/162.
    Detached to 12th Light Railway Operating Company, 28 April 1918; rejoined unit from detachment, 8 June 1918.
    Granted extra pay while employed as Locomotive Driver, 1 February 1918.
    On leave to United Kingdom, 30 September 1918; rejoined unit from leave, 16 October 1918.
    Promoted Temporary Corporal, 1 January 1919.
