  • Granddad, I was nearly 5 when you died, but I still have memories of a very quiet old Maori gentleman who was very ill. You volunteered to go to War, but it must have been a real eye-opener for you to go from a small isolated Northland community to England and Europe. Although you have been gone since 1959 you have never been forgotten. Always loved and sadly missed, RIP Granddad. xxxx
