    Husband of Lillias Hawkes (nee Handforth).

    Three of George Hawkes' sons served in WW2: the eldest son served in the Navy; Graeme Bradshaw Hawkes (38061) a POW and David Handforth Hawkes (NZ40739) was killed in RNZAF flying training accident in New Zealand.
