I am leaving a personal note to the man who was my uncle and died in Galllipolli. I did not know Richard (Dick) Boden. He was my father's older brother and my grandmother's eldest son. He would have left NZ full of excitement and trepidation. He did not live long . He died in early in the expedition, dying in May. My Dad referred to his brother as "dear old Dick" I always wished that I could have known him. I was an only child and he would have been a welcome addition to the family. I hope that his memory and that of his brother, my father, does not die and that their sacrifice has not ultimately been in vain.
