Note
In 2016, I went to Petone Railway Station for ANZAC Day. The dawn service was 100 years since the first commemorative service for Gallipoli for all you Railway men. I recently visited the church in Ohakune where you were married. St Johns is still there and looking very mellow in its old age. It is sad that you had no chance to return there after the war. I may have even known you when I was a young lad. I have read accounts of the time of your death as you lead your men forward in a travel trench. I am coming back. I will visit you again soon and your brothers as well. Be at peace.
