You served alongside your first cousin Willie Awa Ratahi (my dads brother) who died 21 April 1944 in Tunisia at the Battle of Takrouna. Today there are no ANZAC parades the first time in our history because of COVID 19. I am remembering you and your sacrifice by posting up your photo wearing your uniform that we had in our whanau records. Now when we come to lay a poppy for you we can remember you, your face and how young and handsome you were and will forever be.
