Ernest Frank Newman was my grandfather. I am immensely proud of this fact and thankful that he made it home from WW1, so that his lineage continued. Mostly I am thankful for the guts, grit and loyalty of all of the ANZAC's to protect the freedom and peace of their nation. We are the lucky generations who have benefited from this absolute commitment to humanity and country. They were a great era of men and woman, unmatched I believe by the generations who have followed them. They are the definitive freedom fighters and patriarchs’ of our society. We must remember them.
