Every year on ANZAC day I remember Alfred. I never knew him but he was my great uncle, my Grandfather's older brother. I always wonder what his life would have been like if he had survived the war. I wonder if he like many others thought they were going on an adventure and if the reality was very different. I am proud of him for his sacrifice but wished he had never had to go in the first place. RIP Alfred.
